Kapton® Polyimide Sample Pack Heaters

Relative Cost:  A Kapton heater is approximately twice the cost of a silicone rubber heater of the same size.
Waterproofing:  Kapton is highly resistant to moisture and many harsh chemicals.  However, the exit area for the power leads is not waterproof.
Applications:  Vacuum chambers, spacecraft, medical equipment

Because Kapton is a very thin material, this heater has an extremely fast response time.  A high-temperature, pressure-sensitive adhesive is provided for mounting.  The adhesive will semi-cure at temperatures above 400 degrees F, making removal difficult.  Very low out-gassing is a major benefit of the Kapton heater, making it extremely useful for vacuum chambers or space applications.
