Relative Cost:  A polyester heater is about 75% of the cost of a silicone rubber heater of the same size.
Waterproofing:  This heater should not be immersed; however, it is resistant to high moisture exposure.
Applications:  food warming, battery heating, animal heating


This type of heater can have a distributed wattage where constant temperature is required across the entire surface.  It has a pressure-sensitiive adhesive to facilitate mounting.  This adhesive is strong and not easily removed after the heater has been installed. 
 
Polyester heaters are best suited to an application where a large surface requires heat of 200 degress F or less.  The limitation is watt density.
